Is my data used to train AI?

No. Ettihad never uses your content to train anything, and under our contract with Google, Google does not use it to train or improve its AI models either.

Does anyone sell or advertise with my data?

No. We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We have never done any of these, and we will not.

Where is my data stored?

Our core application, database, and file storage run in the European Union (Belgium), in data centers operating under some of the strictest data-protection and security regulation in the world. Sign-in infrastructure runs in the United States. For AI features, content is processed in Google data centers that are not confined to a single country. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every provider is under the same contractual protections.

Who can see my community’s records?

Only members of your community, limited by what their role allows. Beyond that, we share personal data only with the service providers that run Ettihad, under contract, for that purpose alone. The only other case is a disclosure the law requires of us, or one needed to protect the service — the same exception written into our Privacy Policy.

What does Ettihad itself collect?

The minimum the service needs. The best protection for data is not needing it: votes in secret ballots are stored with no link to your identity, and voice recordings are deleted from storage within 24 hours.

Can I delete everything?

Yes, from inside the app. Your personal identifiers are removed; the ledger entries the community’s accounting needs stay, but with no direct link to your identity.

What if I say no to AI?

Everything except the AI features keeps working. You can still attach a receipt to your payment and submit it as usual — your community’s managers review it themselves instead of the AI.

How do I reach a human about my data?

Write to dpo@ettihad.org. You can also use the complaint routes to the data-protection authorities in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE listed in our Privacy Policy.

A word from the founder

Ettihad exists because neighbors trusted someone to keep their shared money clear and fair. That trust extends to your data, and it goes deeper than any policy page: I would rather shut this service down than betray the data you placed in it. We build Ettihad so your information stays safe — even from us: we collect the minimum, we lock what we hold, and we treat not needing to see your data as the strongest protection of all.

The full legal detail

This page is a plain-words summary of how we treat your data. The Privacy Policy is the complete legal document, and it is where to go whenever you need more detail than this page gives.
